Raleigh Downtown Living Advocates

Historic Preservation Committee

Mission

To encourage community among and educate DLA members and downtown residents about Raleigh’s downtown historic neighborhoods and the historic preservation issues that affect their preservation and planning.  Walking tours of Raleigh’s historic SE, SW, NE, and NW quarters are organized around unifying themes, such as Historic Neighborhoods, Universities, Churches, Cemeteries, and special themes such as Remnants of the Fourth Ward in SW Downtown Raleigh, much of which was lost due to urban renewal programs.

Committee Meetings and events

The Committee meets 2-3 times per year to plan and organize walking tours of the downtown area.

Committee meetings and events are listed on the DLA Event Calendar.
